Rolled ice cream — also known as Thai-style ice cream — is one of the most visually impressive desserts you can serve. Made on a cold plate (typically -20°C to -30°C surface temperature), the powder mix is poured, mixed with additives, scraped into thin sheets, and rolled into elegant cylinders.
What you'll need
- Revala Rolling Ice Cream Powder
- Cold plate (anti-griddle / cold pan)
- Two metal spatulas / scrapers
- Additives of your choice — fruit, cookies, sauces, nuts
- Serving cups
Step-by-step preparation
- Prepare the powder mix according to the package instructions — typically dissolve in cold water and stir until smooth.
- Pre-cool your cold plate to the recommended temperature (-20°C to -30°C surface).
- Pour the liquid mix onto the cold plate in a thin layer.
- Add your chosen additives — strawberries, cookies, chocolate sauce — and chop them into the mix with your spatulas.
- Spread the mix thin and even across the plate.
- Once frozen, scrape and roll into cylinders.
- Serve immediately in a cup with toppings.
Tip: The plombir base of our Rolling Ice Cream Powder is intentionally unflavored — your additives become the flavor, and the visual show becomes the experience.
